Navigant Consulting

Role: Senior Consultant

Dates: Nov 2004 to Mar 2006

Precept Programme Management (which is now part of Navigant Consulting) was a specialist company, in the Construction industry, concentrating on the following areas:

  • Expert Witness / Dispute Resolution (Planning & Quantum)
  • PFI Projects
  • Programme Management

The key roles Aubyn performed:

  • Dispute Resolution / Litigation work in relation to Planning
  • Forensic Analysis of Programmes
  • Data Analysis In Context of As-Constructed Information

Two of the key client accounts worked on:

  • EPC Contractor who constructed a Liquid Natural Gas processing plant. The case is moving into full litigation proceedings in the TCC
  • International bank which was starting litigation over the problems incurred during the building of its European Data centre

Some of the key techniques used:

  • Critical Path analysis using an As-Planned vs. As-Built methodology
  • The Liquid Natural Gas project had a large volume of contemporaneous databases, which recorded in great detail the actual progress of the project. The role was to understand this data, investigate (independently) how accurate the information was, and present the progress information in a way that helped the overall investigation.

Aubyn was also involved with 3D graphics systems, bid work (planning, writing and processing) for the PFI team and worked on the internal IT Strategy
